I showed it to a number of people and although most of them were excited, some of them started asking the hard questions. The concept wasn’t quite clear to them. If I wanted to take the user through a crime story were the Antwerp Giants are characters and possible suspects, a bit like the game “clues”, and the point was to find the murderer. Well that would take some time. Not everybody spends two hours at a museum. Secondly if the point of the project is to present the connections between the Antwerp Giants, how would that come to pass? Well if let's say, Willy Vandersteen was murdered, that would exclude Jef Nys and The Lange Wapper, because they have a connection. Leaving 12 suspects with no connection to Willy Vandersteen. Which in the eyes of some neglects the whole point of the connections. And lastly, people had very different expectations on how it would be represented, some though “ah cool, so you walk around Antwerp?”while others had the idea it would just be in the museum. And one of them, just didn’t grasp the concept at all… Which got me thinking. If one out of ten people doesn’t see the concept or value or whatever then maybe I should redirect my time to the second idea.
