Fred Bervoets studied at the Royal academy of Fine Arts. He also became part of the alumni board. Just like Jef Nys. He had a gift for drawing and painting. His mentors was René de Coninck. During his studies Fred was already popular. He received de Laurent Meeus price at an early age of 19. TheHuymans Price at the age of 21 and a Lauriat of 300 years academy at the age of 22. Saying he is a good artist is quite the understatement.  In 1982 he worked with Wilfried Pas at The Black Panter. In 1990 a song was written in honor of Fred Bervoets, called “Het zesluik voor Fred Bervoets” by Wannes Van de Velde.
